Mission
TELOGENIS.org exists to bridge the gap between peer-reviewed longevity science and public understanding. We believe that evidence-based education is the foundation of informed decision-making about healthspan optimization.
Our mission is to curate, summarize, and contextualize research in telomere biology, cellular senescence, and aging mechanisms—making complex science accessible without sacrificing accuracy.
Vision
We envision a world where the public can distinguish between robust scientific evidence and commercial hyperbole in the longevity space. By establishing transparent editorial standards and independent scientific review, we aim to become a trusted reference point for researchers, clinicians, journalists, and curious individuals alike.
Scientific Philosophy
TELOGENIS.org adheres to the following core principles:
- Evidence Hierarchy: We prioritize randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses over preclinical or observational data when making interpretive claims.
- Uncertainty Acknowledgment: We explicitly state the limitations of current evidence and avoid overstating causality where only association has been demonstrated.
- Neutrality: We do not endorse specific products, brands, or interventions. Our educational content is independent of commercial influence.
- Transparency: We disclose funding sources, editorial policies, and correction histories openly.
- Regulatory Compliance: We avoid disease treatment and prevention claims, using cautious language such as "may support," "is associated with," and "has been studied for."
Independence Statement
TELOGENIS.org operates independently from TELOGENIS.com and any commercial entities. While the .com platform may engage in commercial activities, the .org domain is strictly educational and non-commercial. All editorial decisions are made by the Scientific Advisory Board without commercial input.
Transparency Policy
We maintain complete transparency regarding our operations:
- All articles list the author and independent scientific reviewer with credentials.
- Publication dates and last-updated dates are displayed prominently.
- Reference counts and evidence grades are provided for every research summary.
- Funding sources are disclosed on this page and updated annually.
- Corrections are logged publicly with dates and explanations.
Editorial Policy
Our editorial process follows a three-stage review:
- Draft Preparation: Written by a subject-matter researcher or science communicator with relevant training.
- Scientific Review: Independently reviewed by a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for factual accuracy, balance, and appropriate caveats.
- Editorial Review: Checked for clarity, accessibility, regulatory compliance, and internal consistency.
Articles are updated quarterly or when significant new evidence emerges. Outdated articles are clearly marked with revision notices.
Funding Disclosure
TELOGENIS.org is funded through a combination of:
- Independent research grants focused on science communication
- Individual donations from supporters of open scientific education
- Educational partnership agreements with academic institutions (no editorial control granted to partners)
We do not accept funding from supplement manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, or any entity with a direct commercial interest in the interventions discussed on this platform. A complete list of funders is available upon request.
Research Standards
All research summaries on TELOGENIS.org must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Peer-reviewed publication in a journal indexed by PubMed, Scopus, or Web of Science
- Clear methodology section with appropriate statistical analysis
- Conflict of interest disclosures from the original authors
- Relevance to human aging or translational geroscience
We do not summarize preprints, conference abstracts, or industry white papers as primary evidence.
Scientific Review Process
Each article is assigned a reviewer based on subject-matter expertise. Reviewers evaluate:
- Accuracy of technical claims and data interpretation
- Adequacy of caveats and limitations discussion
- Regulatory compliance of language (no disease claims)
- Balance between optimism and scientific skepticism
- Appropriate citation of primary sources
Reviewers have the authority to reject or request revision of any content that does not meet these standards.
